Festival Season is Over!
Festival Season is just about over! Arrr! Me'earties! - What a summer we've had! We did so many shows this summer,
here's some of the highlights!:

ScurvyScum - We did two nights here, the opening night and the closing night - odd nights for us to play but we'd already been booked for the listing below for the days of the weekend! The first night was on the massive ship stage that they'd purpose built for these events, and on night two we ended up playing in the Crimson Moon Tavern, who kept us in the drink :) we met some lovely people from The Giddy Kipper who fed us until we nearly burst over the weekend, all of this is happening again on September 25-27th and the organiser has told me it's going ahead four times next year!

Lulworth Pirate Festival - we did two nights here as well! - The first night was in a marquee outside of a pub called The Weld Arms
and night two was in the gatehouse of Lulworth Castle during a Rum tasting, now the wonderful thing about rum tasting is that there is an awful lot of it! - we started with Tescos value rum - which is an experience, if you've not tried it, just pick the nearest combustible substance, lets say paraffin, and take a big swig of it!
thankfully our friends Cat and Bucket let us try a wonderful rum which I can't remember the name of for the life of me!

Manor Folk Moot was a one day folk festival up at Donington Le Heath, which despite having perfect weather was rather poorly attended, which was such a shame as there were a great number of wonderful bands!

Lynmouth Music Festival we appeared as a surprise festival closing band on the crown stage, which means we got nearly no publicity, as it happens we had quite a good turn out, trouble was no one had any money left to buy our CDs!

Teignmouth Folk Festival I seem to remember very little about being on stage at this show, but I do remember enjoying all the beer at the ship inn before and after we went on stage! - the stage was literally on the beach overlooking the beer garden so we stood on stage and played music as the sun set over the bay behind us!

Kendal Calling turned into a rather epic trip for us lot we stayed in Shap at a place called Fell House, we showed up and they gave us a load of beer for free, in our very own personal beer fridge!
We drank that and went for a beer or three at The Greyhound Inn just down the road, A pub which we've fallen in love with and would like to stay in all the time, we even ended up playing an impromptu and rather drunken set for the poor locals who were stood by wondering who these mad pirate types were!
The festival itself was rather quiet when we got there, mainly as we'd arrived before they'd opened the gates, which also coincided with people not selling food yet so we set off in search of beer, we found an ale tent and more or less stayed in it until we were due to get on stage at the Kaylied stage, we enjoyed ourselves on stage, the main stage had the streets and goldie lookin' chain on - despite playing at the same time as the headliners for that night we had a full tent joining in with us, we even got encores which the stage manager let us do!
Annoyingly our rider hadn't been filled, Is a bottle of port too much to ask? It was joked about but never materialised..and beer at the ale tent was 3.50 a pint!
So we buggered off back to the Greyhound inn - special thanks to Rob, Val and the crew, we will be back!

And the very next day:
Bearded Theory Benefit Gig, Bearded Theory was hit by a tornado on the Saturday evening which wrecked the main stage, thankfully no one was badly injured, but the insurance didn't cover this "act of god" (isn't that why we have insurance in the first place?) and the organisers of the festival found themselves out of pocket!
A number of benefit gigs were organised, we played ours at the queens hall, Nuneaton with Greenman Rising, Hobo Jones & the junkyard dogs and Dan Donnelly.
was a great night, we did have to leave early tho as we were knackered!

Sidmouth folk festival to a packed audience at the Anchor Inn, on the only sunny day this year...
As the night went on we relised that you lot weren't going to let us off stage after drunken sailor or good ship venus, we did about half an hour of encores!
It was a great night and we're looking forward to playing again next year!

The Night Before III Organised by Dim, takes place every year before Beautiful Days, as we were supplying the PA system we got to road test our new lights which lit the likes of Sarah Marshall who opened the night, followed by Rosie Eade, Doozer, who we enjoyed muchly and spent most of the weekend with!
Then Dan Donnelly who finished his set with the Chav song, or what ever it's called, it's a pisstake towards chav type people, the funny thing was there was a chav dancing in front of him during the song, and the irony suddenly dawned on him that the joke was on him!
Hum was next up, followed by us - We got a random Hobo on stage during Barretts Privateers, for a four part perfect harmony! "Get this vagrant off my stage!"
Then Hobo Jones took the stage for the rest of the night, - They'd managed to blag us a free ticket into Beautiful days, for which we're eternally grateful!

Beautiful Days After the hangover from the above gig, we made our way to Beautiful days, with no confirmed gig slots but we'd taken our instruments anyway, We caught a pirate ship across the site to the main bar then off to the Bimble Inn, where I pestered the living daylights out of various people there until they agreed to let us on stage the following day!
In the meantime we'd lost Sam, who was wenching and didn't materialise before our first set on the Bimble stage!
At one point I had half the camp site looking for him..
Rob and I pulled a great set together and The Bimble agreed to let us on stage again on the Sunday!
Thankfully Sam was found by this time....and were able to do a fairly long set, to our hordes of adoring fans! :P
- We had a great time at Beautiful Days and are looking forward to playing it next year,

Watchet Music Festival, We managed 3 sets during this festival! - all of which we had dancing wenches on stage with us from the Something Else Tea Tent - our last set was performed in said Tea Tent, and we played all of our B-sides and upcoming tunes to a captive audience! :P
The Wenches will be joining us at various gigs from now on in!

Still to come this year, International Talk Like A Pirate Day, London Pirate Festival, More Scurvy Scum, 3 Daft Monkeys at the Phoenix and much more!
