Who Dat?

We return from the most northern most city in the Carribean; New Orleans having played our 100th ‘official’ performance over there at the Funky Pirate at some point during the week, We managed 14 shows in 10 days, sometimes that'd be us on stage for nearly 6 hours a day, a test of our stamina to be sure, as we rarely do more than two hours!

But we nearly didn’t make it me’earties, Our flight got delayed, We missed our connecting flight after spending an hour in immigration, They lost Sam’s Luggage, the hotel needed the actual credit card I used to book, which I didn’t have and they wouldn’t let us check in without it.
And this was fixed thusly:
Continental airlines booked us on the next flight for free, They delivered sam’s luggage to the hotel a few hours later and french quarter suites allowed us to pay cash for our first night at the hotel.

Apart from that it was all good fun, We played something like 14 shows in 10 days, which was exausting so we didn’t get to see much of the town outside our performance venues!
It seems like the French quarter is a cross between downtown Honolulu and Amsterdam, the whole place is filled wall to wall with booze of nearly every kind, you can come and go as you like with drinks, you're still allowed to smoke in the bars, and 90% of people there are drunk but we didn't see any swamp monsters, weird voodoo ladies, or ghost pirates.

Special thanks to:

John And Seika of Nola Pyrate Week for organizing Pyrate Week in the first place none of this would have happned without them!
Also for helping us get out there, rescuing us from the airport, helping us get booked into various stages around the town, not to mention personal transportation and all round good eggs! (not like the song, eh?)

Mrs Mooney for her very cool Mojo Babies!

Paul from Bywater Music for supplying various bits not to mention the mandolin he lent Rob for the week!

Sir David from International Vintage Guitars for the guitar and bass, strings, tuner, acoustic pickup and more various bits!

Pete and cynthia for loan of one amplifier for us to play an 'unplugged' set and being generally awesome!

The entire crew at the Funky Pirate for putting up with us every day for hours and serving us nearly endless drinks, Jamie for booking us in, Pam and Earl for letting us play and especially to Dave for looking after us nearly every day for the entire time we were there!

Shayna of Dress like a pirate fame for bringing Gallows his new boots, the trinkets ye gave us and yer support thru out the event!

Charity, Cobbs and Sharkbyte, part of the crew of The Jade Dragon for being great fun, teaching us dice an' saving us a long old walk that night when the trams just failed spectacuarly!

Rick and Kate both Nola Resident who came to watch us most days over pirate week!

As for the rest of ye scurvy dogs that we ran into, drank with, made fun of, lost at dice to, forgotten names of, sang at:
Nice ta meet yez! hope ta see ye again next time we’re over!
