Pirate days welcome small and large pirates
When the weather and the lake get rougher in autumn, the pirates land again in St. Peter-Ording to camp around the historic island in St. Peter-Dorf for four days. From 17 to 20 October, they will offer insights into past rapacious and romantic times on the North Sea with their adventurous spectacles. After all, not only in the Caribbean so many ships were hijacked on the high seas or sometimes lured with false beacons on a sandbank and robbed.
Four days of tension in the pirate camp
From Thursday to Sunday, the pirate camp invites you to immerse yourself in the world of pirates. In the lovingly designed pirate camp of the Aera Hard under Captain Black, children in the pirate school experience what constitutes a true pirate life. The life off the beaten track is presented in great detail on the entire event area.
Hunt ghosts, test your luck with the wheel of fortune and mouse roulette, or your skills in archery and egg cracking, make sand paintings or learn about ancient craftsmanship. Small shipboys and maids may even make a workpiece themselves at the forge, at the bag binding or candle pulling.
Old brooms return well, as the broom-bearer proves and demonstrates the usefulness of his craft, both then and now.
In addition, a lot of sailor's yarn is spun everywhere, while Captain Sievers in the fairytale tent gives his very own stories to the best. Further highlights are the Walk Acts, which are on the whole area: Tamino the juggler provides with charm and wit for entertainment and leverages the laws of physics by his juggling from the fishing. The magician Robert Blake even has a guillotine with him and Jakob the puppeteer brings Kasper & Co to life. In addition, playing with "Pyrates!" a real pirate band with shanty, traditional music and their own songs for the dance.
Special features on the pirate market
Along the street "Zum Südstrand" and in the parking lots at the town hall, the pirate's warehouse is entering the pirate market with its colorful mixture of food and drinks, stalls and artisan shows by blacksmiths, bag makers and punters.
Thus, e.g. at Wietses Pies, croquettes, frickandels and potato wedges on offer, with the roasting rack skewers, bratwurst and neck steak and with salad braised vegetables and mushrooms.
The tavern Suff and Sin offers directly in the warm drinks with and without alcohol, Tortuga hot and cold cocktails without alcohol. Beer is available directly from the pirate ship and at the witches tavern.
At the stalls you will find all the goods that have "fallen off the ship" during the loot raids from all over the world, such as knight and pirate toys, high quality sculpures and light installations made of fuel and firewood, animal skins, cuddly toys and fur products, mead, liqueurs, honey and spices, horn products, gemstones, accessories, matching costumes, precious soaps and jewelry.
